Glasgow South: Simple and Soft Garden Design in Cathcart

The first thing i wanted to do was to create a bigger garden. By removing the bed which divided the garden into two narrow rectangles, and then implementing a circular design we can produce a more spacious area and procure more function for the space we are left with. Glasgow West: Modern Townhouse Garden Design in Jordanhill

The garden is completely rectangular and since the slope is at a constant parallel with the house it’d be very difficult to instate a geometric plan without making the garden seem like an over-sized stairway. To combat this and reduce the effect of the terracing I have decided to create some movement in the basic lines that will form the structural elements within the space of the new design.

Glasgow South: Long Narrow Garden Design in Clarkston

This end of the garden gathers the majority of the afternoon and evening sun – so some shade in the form of a ‘floating’ pergola, is welcome but I fell also necessary here to reconcile with the obstruction posed by the garage building.
