These fantastic garden daybeds certainly inspire us to design gardens to put them in and I’m hoping that by showing them here as demonstrated at FreshHome they might inspire you guys to get us to draft you up some fantastic design for your own garden!

These beautiful daybeds are made by Lifeshop Collection, a company that is specialized in indoor and outdoor contract furniture, hotel furniture, contract lighting, contract artwork, casegoods, and resin furniture. The summer is near, and a piece of outdoor furniture like this would be great, to relax outside your house, and breathe fresh air. These pieces would be also awesome for an outdoor party. – Via – Espaciohogar – Via – Freshhome

A funky and modern twist on the traditional garden parasol design: these can be used when the garden design is such that a traditional umbrella structured parasol might compromise the overall theme of the space.

Coolaroo Shade Sails are bold, brightly colored in square and triangle shapes. It’s remarkable how one lone shade sail can lend an outdoor space a contemporary touch. String up a group of shade sails—like in the photo, below—and you can transform a space into something you’d expect to find at a modern art museum.

What you can’t see from the photos is how durable the Coolaroo material is. This isn’t like hanging out a sheet. The shade sails are made for life outdoors. The sail’s nylon edges will not tear or fray. The color of the material will remain bright even when permanently hung outside and exposed to moisture, intense sun – which is inevitable in Glasgow! – and temperature extremes. The D-rings on the corners of the Coolaroo will stay anchored to the included stainless steel poles. Coolaroo products come with a 10 year warranty. If your shade sail becomes damaged the company will replace it for free.
Best of all, the Coolaroo fabric blocks out 90% of the sun’s harmful UV rays while allowing breezes to pass through. So life under a Coolaroo is cool in more ways than one. – VIA – SpotCoolStuff

Here is an example of a recent landscaping project we undertook in Thornliebank near to Giffnock in the southside of Glasgow. Andrew S asked us to landscape and revamp the front garden which had been left in a bit of a state by the builders who had recently put an extension onto the rear of the house.

Fair-weather play dates come and go, but notNeutral’s outdoor kids furniture will hold steadfast, rain or shine. A collaboration with Loll Designs, the BBO2 collection comprises 100 percent recycled post-consumer high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a plastic resin used to make products and packaging such as milk jugs, detergent bottles, and margarine tubs. Roughly eight recycled milk jugs go into every pound of the furniture’s weight. (more…)

Being new to the landscaping and design business it was always going to take me a while to get used to the different aspects involved, none more so than the design process; fiddling about on the laptop with the design software we use was all well and good- but it couldn’t prepare me for the real life problems presented by an actual client and project.

We received some mixed feedback form our December 2008 website revision with the flash navigation and music uploading. I decided to remove the flash navigation and music altogether and changed the layout slightly to be simpler.

We have retained some the great fetures of the old site including our fantastic resources page showcasing all of our co-operative projects and our local business friendships as well as suppliers and helpful website links. You can also now navigate to our main social networking sites such as twitter and facebook on the right hand sidebar and catch up on my latest updates via my twitter-feed at the bottom of the page.
We will probably be shifting the emphasis of our portfolio onto blog releases and onto our Facebook business page and a Flickr account. We shall also shortly be announcing the launch of our YouTube channel which will serve as a video diary for our projects as well as showcasing our finished gardens and interviews with clients. Exciting times!
The site will probably still be tweaked here and there but I would welcome any feedback you guys can deliever!
Cheers for now,
Nicky Patterson, Garden Designer @ GardenImprovements.com

Check out these fantastic stand-alone hammocks as seen on SpotCoolStuff:

Hammocks have come a long way since pre-Columbian natives in South America wove together sheets from the bark of a Hamack tree and strung them up between two poles. Hammocks today are stylishly designed, scientifically engineered and, we have to imagine, a whole lot more comfortable than lying on bark was!
These Hammocks would suit a contemporary design but would fit comfortably with both comprehensive and minimalist layouts when situated specifically with considered forethought.
Check them out at SpotCoolStuff
